Book 1 in the Against All Odds series: Undefeated
He’s innocent, but he just spent 5 years in prison. Should he be okay with never learning the truth?
Xander Reinerman barely made it out of prison alive. Someone framed him and now he’s out to show the world (especially his family) that he isn’t the monster the media made him out to be. Doing that in a new town with no money, no friends, and a felony record will take every weapon in his arsenal and what’s left of his shredded hope.
After Golden’s philanthropist Gia Carter offers shelter to the handsome, quiet stranger in town, her life begins to unravel at breakneck speed, starting with her growing attraction to this broody man she knows nothing about. Someone’s out to ruin her and they won’t stop until she’s headed back to her parents in a body bag.
They need each other, but neither of them will ever trust easily again.
Prepare to be enthralled by this gripping story of rags to riches, interracial, slow burn romance while they try to defeat their unseen enemies. Undefeated is a clean romantic suspense set in Colorado that will keep you reading all night long.
This was a great read. The characters were well developed and kept you captured from the beginning. I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout. Highly recommend this read!
This book captured my attention from the first page and I couldn’t put it down! I love the book’s portrayal of the heroine as a strong, intelligent and independent woman intent on making the world a better place. The partnership between Gia and Xander is compelling not only as a budding romantic relationship but as an example of mutual trust and respect. I can’t wait to read more by C.D. Gill!
A well-written and engaging novel with two characters who must break free from the prisons of their past. Gia is a spunky, smart modern woman running from guilt and an abusive ex. She falls for a quiet mysterious stranger trying to clear his name and escape the memories of five years in prison. A sweet, clean romance that’s not vanilla.
Gill’s best work yet!
