If you hang around me on social media at all, by now you must know I have a third novel coming out in March! It’s an honest-to-goodness fight to get your creative work off the hard drive and into the hands of real-life people who have opinions. Hearing people’s opinions can be nerve-fraying stuff. But I thought I’d address some of the more popular questions just in case you’re wondering, too!
“Do I need to read the books in order?” No, the books are labeled under “Freedom’s Cry Novel” because they all address an aspect of human trafficking/ modern-day slavery. In that regard, the books are more of a collection surrounding a topic instead of a “series” which may carry the same characters through to the end. While you may meet some characters from other books in my new book, you don’t need to read the books in any specific order to enjoy them.
“Is Behind Lead Doors ever going to be in paperback?” Not for the foreseeable future, but miracles do happen.
“Are you always going to write about human trafficking?” No, that very tough topic was on my heart when I started writing back in 2012 and I wanted to address a lot of what I saw happening. The Apricot Underground is the last book in the collection for the time being, although I reserve the right to add more someday. (In fact, my husband saw a news article
“Is there excessive violence in your books?” No, there isn’t excessive violence, but there is light violence. I try to handle things delicately, but I’d always recommend reading the book for yourself before allowing your teen to read it on their own. You know best.
“Do you have audiobooks out?” Not at the moment. I’ve found some amazing narrators, but I’m not dipping my toes into that pool just yet. Hopefully soon, so stay tuned!
“Why A21?” There are TONS of incredible organizations to support out there who are doing work that no one really hears about. I chose A21 because they have a growing presence around the world and especially in Bulgaria/Greece where The Apricot Underground is based. They are working with the Romas in Bulgaria and have an expert staff who works in the same areas addressed in the book. I can’t wait to support other organizations, so if you want to recommend a charity or world-changing organization, send me a message or drop a note.

If you can’t wait for something to read, here are my other two.
