InD'tale Magazine

Gill presents a smooth blend of fast-moving action, dramatic suspense, mystery, plot twists, and romance. I didn’t want to put this book down. The immediate chemistry between Madison and Duke can’t be denied, even in the stinky, filthy jail cell in which they first meet. There’s an amazing variety of characters, including children, and an infusion of psychological drama. Even though the action is focused on the dangers which threaten the protagonists today, much of their thoughts reflect on the emotional scars of their pasts. Surviving childhoods with no parent or an abusive one, their confrontation with death is also a challenge to ‘learn to let go of the past in order to embrace the future.’ Highly recommended.
